Patch Notes (11/03/2023) Update 1.4.3

Ballistae, Push Sticks, Lootables, and more! Let’s dive into what’s new to Skillfite.io in Update 1.4.3!

Push Stick

  • We are excited to introduce the Push Stick! When equipped, you can aim and use it to push an NPC or player away from you.
  • Similarly to the Grappling Hook, the Push Stick does have a maximum amount of uses, which is currently 15. After it breaks, you will have to find another one, which you can do by killing animals. The Push Stick is a rare drop from all NPCs.

Ballista

  • A new level feature is the Ballista – a launcher weapon which you can interact with to aim and shoot high-damage javelins at your enemies! There are currently 9 stationed throughout the map, and upon use, there is a 10-second period where it is depleted before it resets.

Lootables

  • There are now chests of different rarity which can spawn scattered throughout the map. These chests can drop some pretty decent loot but have a good chunk of health, so make sure you have a friend there to help you break it open. Good luck in your hunt to find them!

Emotes

  • Because of popular demand, we are adding our first player emote to Skillfite.io! Simply middle-click to play this emote. Please note we are looking at adding more in the future, and as of right now, this feature is only available on Desktop.

Other New Features & Gameplay Balances

  • When a player starts the game without entering a name, a random nickname will be assigned.
  • Sword DPS has been lowered in response to player feedback from the last few updates. This should make bows more viable in comparison again.
  • Crossbow attack speed has been slightly sped up.
  • Added some new sounds to the game.
  • Auto-attacking can now be cancelled by manually aiming or dashing.
  • We have implemented some anti-spamming features in the game chat.

Bugfixes:

  • Fixed a large bug which affected the NPC Aggro System, most notably in the Troll.
  • Fixed an issue where players could enter the water and leave the game area.
  • Fixed collision bugs on multiple assets which seemingly were missing collision in the level.

  1. I hate the ballista!! shoots too far and gives a low level player a HUGE advantage. So, if I’m level 25 and just worked 1 hour + then a level 1 comes along and takes it all away with a kill shot. If he dies he loses nothing but the higher level loses almost everything. It’s just not fair and gives the game very little longevity in play time.

    What is the use in cutting trees and mining when I can just run up to a ballista, kill a player and then steal his stuff? Sure, sounds great for a level 1 who logged on 3 minutes earlier but what is fair to the guy working for the past hour to build his character stats? Just not fair…really isn’t.

    And the push stick pushing a much larger and higher level player the same distance as a low level player also does not seem logical. Push stick is good but scale it based upon the level of the player using it.

    Rant off….

  2. Maybe add a part about the arctic, and poler bears, or maybe new chests, and the crossbow might be too strong, you can even kill the top one in one hit, maybe make the crossbow a little less strong
